Create Intentional Connection with the REACH Framework

If networking feels awkward or exhausting, you’re not alone. The idea of "putting yourself out there" can feel overwhelming, especially when it feels transactional instead of meaningful.

But what if there was a better way to build real relationships without the small talk and awkward intros?

Enter the REACH Framework, created by my friend Blake Fly. It’s a simple, repeatable way to create connections that actually matter—whether in business, personal life, or online communities.

The REACH Framework for Genuine Connection

The best connections don’t happen by accident. They happen when you’re intentional.

That’s what the REACH Framework helps you do: create thoughtful, meaningful interactions without overcomplicating it.

Each step of REACH makes connecting with others easier, more natural, and more impactful.

R – Research
Know something about the person before reaching out. It doesn’t have to be deep, just a small point of connection.

Example: Noticing their background color in a video, their latest post, or a personal interest.

E – Engage
Find a creative, personal way to say hello. Stand out by making your outreach unique and unexpected.

Example: Sending a quick video message instead of just another email.

A – Acknowledge
Recognize something specific about the person. Show appreciation for a small impact they’ve made.

Example: Sending a note about how a post they shared helped you a year later.

C – Call to Action
Make it easy for the conversation to continue. The CTA doesn’t have to be big, just clear and simple.

Example: "Let me know when you see this so we can set a time to chat."

H – High Five
End the interaction on a high note. Make it feel upbeat, fun, and positive.

Example: Sending a simple “That was great!” message or leaving with a memorable sign-off.

Why This Works

Most people feel overlooked. We’re surrounded by messages, notifications, and noise but we all want to feel seen.

That’s why these small, thoughtful actions stand out.

  • They make conversations feel natural, not forced.

  • They remove the pressure to “network” and instead focus on building relationships.

  • They leave an impression because they feel personal, intentional, and different.

You Don’t Need to Be an Extrovert to Build Connections

Whether you’re growing your business, engaging with your membership, or just looking to expand your network, REACH makes it easy.

Try it today: Send a message to someone and acknowledge them for something specific. It’s the simplest way to start creating genuine, lasting relationships.

Building strong relationships isn’t just about growing your network, it’s also about keeping the customers you already have. If you want to create a thriving, engaged membership that keeps people long-term, you need a retention strategy that works.
