How I Consistently Create Content as a Busy Mom and Business Owner
One of the most common questions I get is:
"How do you create so much content?"
As a mom of five, a grandmother, and someone who homeschools my youngest children, I work about 20 hours a week. That means I don't have unlimited time for content creation. I have to be intentional about how I use the time I have.
The answer is simple.
I batch.
Instead of creating one piece of content from start to finish every week, I group similar tasks together. This helps me stay focused and make better use of my time.
My Content Creation Process
I dedicate one day each week to content creation.
I start by using AI to help organize ideas, expand on topics, and turn questions from Q&A sessions into teaching content.
Then I write three to four YouTube scripts. I used to film from outlines, but I found that scripts helped me stay focused and avoid rambling. Since I prefer my videos to stay under ten minutes, that structure matters.
Once the scripts are finished, I batch film several videos in a single session before moving on to the next stage of the process.
One Piece of Content Becomes Many
Once filming is complete, my assistant edits everything in Descript.
From there, we repurpose the content into multiple formats, including:
LinkedIn articles
Email newsletters
Social media content
Short-form video clips
The goal is simple.
Get more mileage from the work you've already done.
Don't Overcomplicate Content
Not everyone needs a full batching system.
Some people create content in as little as 15 minutes a day.
They record themselves working, grab a short clip, add a little text, write a caption, and post it. That's it.
No elaborate production. No complicated strategy. Just consistent action.
I think many business owners make content creation harder than it needs to be.
I'd rather see you publish something than nothing.
A Quick Note About Membership Content
If you're in the early stages of building a membership, I don't recommend batching large amounts of content.
At that stage, feedback matters more than efficiency.
You need to hear from members and understand:
What they're enjoying
What's helping them
What's falling flat
Where you can improve
Those early conversations help shape a stronger membership experience.
Final Thoughts
You do not need more hours in the day to create content consistently.
You need a process.
For me, that process is batching similar tasks together, repurposing content across multiple platforms, and keeping things simple.
Because consistency beats complexity every time.
